JPodium not vulnerable to SQL injection On 5th July I was made aware that a potential vulnerability to SQL injections on frontend views of JPodium was found out. I investigated this immediately and got in contact with other Joomla! developers. Be assured: there is no SQL injection possible on any of the frontend views. No SQL queries are created based on user input or on unfiltered URL parameters.
Points are coming closer A big number of JPodium users is waiting for the implementation of points. They all want to show season standings for their sportsmen based on points collected in several races.

Now we have good news: the first view for this is almost ready and in final testing.
Result editing - Look at the pencil! I am sure you know the races administration in the backend. And you have seen the little pencil there. There has not been much functionality behind, but now this has changed. The races administration provides direct access to a comfortable screen to update your results and edit new ones.
JPodium with team support The latest release of JPodium just uploaded comes with support to manage team data. This is made in order to use JPodium for stage races or seasonal race series. All administrative functions are implemented and final tests are passed. The demo data still has to be tweaked a little to fit in the structure.

Welcome to JPodium

JPodium is a Joomla! component to manage and display sports results. The intended use is to keep track of race results for e.g. a cycling club portal. Of course it is not fixed to any kind of sports but more to a certain structure of race results. This means that every athlete has a class (e.g. age class like "Master") attached and the results are listed per race in this classes.

From cycling results to JPodium

JPodium was initially designed several years ago as a Nuke module and used for years on a portal for a cycling club. After the migration of the whole site to Joomla! it was necessary to migrate the results management as well. We could not find any component that matched our requirements and decided to make use of the old principle.

Same principle - more functionality

As Joomla! provides a feature rich framework especially in the admin backend the component has an easy-to-use interface for site admins. The databases for athletes, races, results, seasons, classes and heats can all be accessed via the backend. The frontend is in this early development stages a plain list of results. It can be shown either per race with a list of athletes divided in classes or per athlete with all results stored for the individual sportsman.
