How to use JPodium - Classes

Our athletes are competing in the three classes U23, Elite and Masters. To generate table entries for this three classes we call the Classes table from the Control panel. The screenshot shows the empty classes list.

To create a new entry we select the function New from the toolbar on the top right corner.

This opens the view to enter the class detail data. Like said above we create three classes: U23, Elite and Masters. The next screenshot shows as example the Masters data set. Please note that we set the published flag. That can of course also be done on the overview page.

When the data is complete we can save the dataset and return to the overview list. There we see our first class in the list. After repeating this steps for our three classes the list should look similar to the next picture. All three classes are shown with their short description and the ID number on the far right of the screen. The number on the left is just a counter.

Difference between Short description and Long description

Every class has two descriptive texts, a short and a long one. These texts are used in different views where space can be a restriction. Just make sure you can identify your classes by both the short and the long name.
