Plugins are coming

On popular demand I am actually developing two plugins for JPodium. The first one is a simple serach plugin to make all JPodium databases searchable. The second one is more important. It is a content plugin to display selected race result tables in content items. Just imagine an article about a race with the results of your riders right below it. Or an article about a special performance of an athlete with his results directly in the article. Let me know if this sounds good. Add a comment

Language files updated

The language files provided in the downloads section are now updated to the version 0.9.016 of JPodium. On top a Russian translation was added and the German package is published separately.

Contact form renovated

The contact form used was the standard form of Joomla! 1.5. Unfortunately it does not allow too many custom settings. I decided to use AlfContact and I really think this is an improvement.

And from now on all my German friends don't need to send English mails anymore. Enjoy it.

April fools day

Just to avoid misunderstandings. The announcement made yesterday that JPodium becomes a commercial software was made on April 1st. If you want to read the story again you can do so here.

JPodium goes commercial - © Thorsten Freyer / PIXELIOAfter long and intense discussions among all the members of the JPodium development team it was decided to transform JPodium into a commercial solution. The effort it takes to develop and maintain a component like JPodium is huge. The time spent is coming close to a full time job with no compensation at all. The help desk support alone would justify a full-time employee not to mention the long nights answering all the feature request mails.

Version 0.9.015 in final testing

After several announcements via Twitter and a lot of mail communication I finally decided to freeze the code for the next version. The next days I'll focus on testing and fine-tuning my demo data and the installation script. The file will be available over the Easter weekend.

Major changes and new features

As you can see on the published screenshots on Twitter there will be a team management in the backend plus a team listing in the frontend. This was all created to support stage race results publishing. Beside general maintenance and bugfixes (e.g. in the installation scripts) I added two views to display results for one selected race.

Drop me a mail if you have feedback.
